Since the 1600s, the world’s best Plateware has come from Stoke-on-Trent, England, where the local clay and craftsmanship creates uniquely hard-wearing high alumina vitrified china. Prized for its beauty, longevity, and unrivaled chipping resistance, it’s historically been reserved for the hospitality industry—until now.

We’re the first to bring this legacy Plateware to home cooks. Most Plateware is mechanically top glazed, leaving an unfinished “foot” that causes scratching when stacked. Our fully-glazed Plateware is suspended on pins for 360-degree glazing, leaving behind three small “beauty marks”—not blemishes—that are the sign of fine craftsmanship. The glazing makes each piece chip- and scratch-resistant, in addition to being oven safe to 580F, so delicate sauces won’t break due to the temperature shock of a cold plate.

Discover the elegant bowl/plate hybrid that’s as beautiful on its thousandth meal as it is on its first.

Popular Questions

How are the Entrée bowls made?

Our stoneware and dinnerware is made in Stoke-On-Trent, England out of high alumina vitrified china. The quality of craftsmanship makes them extremely chip-resistant, so they’re perfect for everything from weeknight dinners to special occasion dinner parties. For home cooks, they’re elegant, understated, and the perfect size for main courses like pasta dishes.

What is an Entrée bowl?

Like a dinner plate, Entrée Bowls are essential pieces of tableware for any tabletop. A cross between a bowl and a plate, these are great as dinner bowls, cereal bowls, small salad bowls, and plenty more.

What do you serve in Entrée bowls?

You can put tons of stuff in an Entrée bowl. They make perfect pasta bowls, can be serving bowls for smaller dishes or toppings, and work well for everyday use. They serve as shallow soup bowls, and are perfect for beuatifully plating stews or even a stir fry.

Why is a beauty mark a sign of a better plate?

Most standard plateware undergoes a lower-quality glazing process that leaves a substantial unfinished foot circling the bottom of each dish. In addition to causing scratching when stacked, the unfinished foot may damage the surface of wooden tables. To prevent this, our production involves suspending each dish on three pins to manually apply 360-degree glazing and scratch prevention. The pins leave behind three “beauty marks” — not blemishes— that are an intentional byproduct of a premium production process. While common enough in fine dining rooms, this high-end manufacturing process is seldom used by other brands due to its difficulty and time-consuming nature. Rest assured that the expert craftsmanship required to produce our Plateware results in much safer and more durable ceramics, which home cooks typically haven't had access to—until now.
